A transfill device as minimal and bombproof as we could get it - designed for carrying on a sump/cave dive where you then have to walk through a dry cave to the next sump. If you have a regulator issue and lose all your gas in a small tank, the sump saver gives you options to fill one tank from another, and may save the dive, the objective or your life.
Being small and light it's handy for travel as well.
It does the same thing as a transfill whip, allowing you to connect 2 tanks together and equalise the pressure but the main difference apart from size is that it's all metal construction (brass and stainless steel) so there are no rubber O rings or hoses to fail (apart from the DIN fitting ones).
High pressure caps are provided so that you can turn the sump saver into tank valve plugs for transport of precious gas to the water.
A small spanner or shifter is needed to assemble and disassemble/bleed the transfill assembly, but it is almost as quick and easy to do as a regular DIN fitting once you get the hang of it. This is a concession we had to make to get rid of as many failure points as possible.
